“Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”
Ephesians 5:14 (NLT)
Dreams… ah yes, we all have them.
Alas, I’m not referring to the dreams we have while nestled
warm in our beds wrapped up in the safety of sweet sleep.
I’m talking about the God given kind.
The ones that start out as a tiny seed of hope that God weaves into the fabric of our heart. The purpose of this seed is for God’s will to be done on this earth. He places that desire in us and nurtures it until, quite literally, it comes to fruition (the bearing of fruit).
All we have to do is believe the unseen and trust God.
Wait a minute, you say, that sounds impossible!
And guess what, it is...in your own power that is.
But take heart dear one, God will inspire (breathe life into)
you so that you can do your part and walk into
your divine destiny.
I’ve had such wonderful dreams in the past that I knew God had planted in me. But just recently I found after many trials and disappointments, I had fallen victim to unbelief which caused me to slip into a pit of depression. I was deceived into thinking those precious dreams were simply vain imaginations.
I had become hopeless and cynical, fertile ground for the enemy of my soul to take root and make his home.
But.... I know there is no coincidence that my pastor’s[1] new message series is Imagine and Sunday’s sermon was “Living Your Dreams.”
Tonight as I settled into my seat to begin my new bible college[2] class and the pastor[3] began to share the focus of the 11 week course, Developing Spiritual Confidence my spirit quickened. Minutes later as he started the nights lesson “How Desires Grow into Fulfilled Dreams” my heartljumped and I realized…
God is knocking at the door of my heart to see if I’ll let him back in.
There is a process God must take us through before we see the dreams come to pass.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
Desire
Things
Substance
Delay
Difficulties
Dead End
Deliverance
Between the anointing and the crowning comes the testing
It is a long and difficult journey, but if we will listen for the voice of God and be willing to take that leap of faith , we will find that “Dreams really do come true, nothing is impossible with God.” [4]
